On The Job
There are lots of things you can do to burn extra calories on the job, reduce the discomfort of some workplaces, and make yourself feel better during the work day.
Exercise at work will benefit employers as well as employees -- in reduced absenteeism and health-care costs. Productivity tends to increase when employees stretch or exercise at work. Studies have shown that small amounts of moderate exercise lead to increased energy and decreased tension for several hours after activity.
